Hi, everyone! My name is Christina Hartia and I am from Naples, Florida. I am currently studying for six weeks in the Summer B session at the Florence University of the Arts in Florence, Italy. I am a student at the University of South Florida and I study Biomedical Sciences. I hope to attend dental school after I graduate and become a general dental surgeon in the future. I received the USF Federal Credit Union Passport Scholarship for the summer term.
This scholarship was a great help to me and my family as I am able to travel to Europe this summer and study with both an Italian professor and a USF professor. This means a lot to me and my education.
I have a Romanian background as both of my parents are originally from Romania and grew up there, so we travel around Europe often. I have not traveled to Europe in over three years and this is my first time visiting Italy. Traveling is one of my favorite things to do and with COVID disrupting almost everything, it was nearly impossible, so I am very grateful to be here. Personally, I hope to visit as many cities in Italy as possible and visit one other country in Europe – probably Switzerland. Since I travel to Eastern Europe more often than any other part, I am very excited to explore and experience different cultures. While I am traveling Italy, I hope to maintain a good academic standing and a high GPA.
