My name is Jaqueena Cousin, I’m majoring in Biomedical Sciences with a minor in Psychology and I’m taking psychology classes in Florence Italy. I was lucky enough to receive the Genshaft/Greenbaum Passport Endowed Scholarship to assist with funding for my trip. My ambitions are to become a pediatrician and later open up my own clinic and provide free/affordable healthcare to children and adolescents.
I’m excited for this trip because I am taking classes towards my minor psychology which will help me to understand the behavior of people and be able to experience a different culture and apply some attributes of the culture to mines. By studying abroad, I hope to become more open-minded and not generalize the behaviors of people due to their specific culture. I hope to gain experience during my visit to a local hospital in Italy. By visiting different food places and talking with various Italians I hope to learn proper etiquette and mannerism of the Italian culture.
