Hello! I’m Jennifer and I’m a third year student majoring in Global Business with a concentration in Marketing.
I am taking Business Law and Principles of Finance in Florence, Italy, where I will be for the next six weeks. I have heard these two course taken together can be tough, especially in a high-paced six week semester, but I am up for a challenge. I will keep you updated and let you know in a couple of weeks how I manage to balance the two courses as well as free time to explore the city!
I have never been to Europe before and do not know what to expect. I do know that in May it is still somewhat cold in most of Europe and therefore should pack warm clothes. I would not have known this if it weren’t for my aunt that lived in Italy for ten years. I hope the three jeans and two sweaters I packed are enough!
I am most excited to increase my cultural awareness and global experience. As a global business major, it is an integral part of the field. Communication with people from all around the world is a daily task in the GB field, so I am setting a goal to practice my Italian with the locals when I arrive. I have learned basic phrases and am eager to pick up more of the language. As a Spanish speaker, it shouldn’t be hard since the two languages have very similar words and pronunciations. I can’t wait to interact with the locals.
Arrivederci! (Goodbye)
