Gallivanting Around Europe

Hello Everyone,

This past week was filled with all sorts of once in a life time experiences. A couple friends of mine joined me in seeing three different countries within the span of nine days. We began in Madrid, Spain. We tried paella from a local restaurant, and it was so good we made sure to get it a second time.

We also went to the beautiful Retiro Park, which had a man-made lake filled with aqua blue waters. People sat in cute little row boats enjoying the afternoon sunshine.

The second evening in Madrid, we obtained tickets to see authentic flamenco dancers, which I believed help us to better understand the cultural side of Madrid. Next, we went to Paris, France. Because we are students, we were able to get into both the Louvre, and the D’Orsey Museum for free. Both were filled with famous paintings and sculptures from famous artists such as Da Vinci, Monet, Dega, and Van Gogh. We went to both the Notre Dame Cathedral, and the Eiffel Tower.

Our final destination was Rome, Italy. Many of the buildings we saw, including the Coliseum and the Pantheon, are several thousand years old.

Near the hostel we stayed in while in Rome was a little restaurant named Andrea’s.I had a cream pasta with sausage, ham, and mushrooms and it was one of the best pasta dishes I have ever eaten.

Here I am with some of the world’s most delicious pasta!

This little family restaurant lived up to my every expectation about the deliciousness of Italian food. I tried to see or do something that was specific to each country I went to and I was not disappointed. This was a trip that I hope never to forget and has only fed my desire to continue traveling this great big beautiful world!
