My name is Kinjal and I am a third year Computer Science student. I was born and raised in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania and am of Indian descent. As such, I have traveled internationally to India multiple times and have had the privilege of seeing places like the Taj Mahal in person.
I’ve had the distinct pleasure of travelling over 36 hours to get to the United States from Tanzania and travelling over 24 hours from Tampa to get to my grandparents’ home in India. Then why I am so excited to get on a long flight to London the day after finals?
Truth is, this is my first time going on an international trip completely alone. Every other trip I’ve ever taken has been with family or has ended in me meeting up with family. This is the first time I’m going to be responsible for taking care of my travel documents and making sure I’m on time for all the events on my itinerary. It’s going to be a unique experience because I’ll be with fellow Bulls who are all just as excited as me to explore London and Paris and make the most of our 10 days in Europe.
I am looking forward to seeing the difference in cultures between major European cities and seeing historical sites like Buckingham Palace and the Louvre.
I am currently putting the last few things in my luggage and am hoping I’m not forgetting anything important.
I am truly thankful to USF for allowing me this opportunity and look forward to sharing my experience on here in the upcoming weeks.
