Wow what a wonderful (if not a bit chilly) way to spend a holiday weekend! I had the privilege of visiting London for a few days this past week. Despite it being incredibly cold and actually snowing a few times, I was able to see many of the attractions London has to offer. For anyone thinking of visiting London I have a few recommendations. Many of London’s main attractions like Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, and Covenant Garden are all within 10-15 minutes walking of each other. If you plan it right, you can do central London is one big circle. The metro system is comprehensive here, but more expensive than Paris.
My favorite thing about London is that all the museums are free! I had the pleasure of seeing two of my favorite paintings, Van Gogh’s Sunflowers and Claude Monet’s Japanese Footbridge.
I also had the pleasure of meeting up with some old friends, and bonding with some new ones! Upon returning to Paris, I realized some things about how different living in Paris is and how much I enjoy it. Despite the fact that it’s still difficult to communicate sometimes, I can easily find my way around Paris these days, and I have begun to develop some favorite spots. As spring gets closer and things begin to bloom, Paris really feels like home!
