Hey! Being in Italy has been great and I apologise for not having posted in so long. I just got caught up and lost in everything that has been happening and it is really hard to believe that my time here is almost gone. Where did it go? I don’t feel like I have been here long enough.

In the past few weeks, one of the cities my friends and I were able to visit with our class was Ferrara. It was a beautiful city and their regional bread was delicious. During our free time, we were able to explore the city and ride bikes along the city walls with breathtaking views. In Ferrara, there is an average of 2.3 bikes per person. This connects to the UN Goal of Sustainable Cities and Communities as people there are using bikes as their main method of transportation. Economically, sustainable means that the community and economy are able to support production indefinitely. This could definitely be applied here as there are very few cars used around the city and public transportation is encouraged. Bus and train tickets are extremely cheap and waiting times are short. In fact, it seems it would be faster to travel by bus or even walk than a car in some places because the streets are crowded and small. In fact, the only time I would even recommend to go by car or taxi is if it is too far to walk and there is no bus or train to get there. In addition, one could see more of the city and find new things by walking rather than riding in a car.

In the short time that I have been here I have experienced so many new things and would encourage anyone who has the chance to go abroad to do so. It is wonderful and I am going to miss it so much when I am back in Florida.
