5 Things you NEED to do in Rome

(Unfortunately, the photos that I took with my DSLR are too big of files that exceeded the limit size per photo.)

I decided to go adventure off into the capital of Italy, the landmarks that preside here are of much value and history and I could say that I never have felt as much in awe as much as I did when I visited Rome. For this week’s blog post, I decided I wanted to make a list of the top 5 things that everyone that visits Rome needs to do before leaving:

1.)  Visit La Pergola.

A very unique restaurant with quality food and desserts.

2.) Visit the Colosseum.

Great attraction, went on a guided tour so we through long lines if you don’t want to wait! Amazing piece of history indeed… You definitely have to climb to the very top to see the view – it is worth it. Let your imagination go wild as you explore this fascinating place of history.

3.) Ensure you return to rome one day again by tossing a coin in the beautiful Trevi Fountain.

The legend of the Trevi Fountain says that one should stand with their back to the fountain and toss a coin over one’s left shoulder to guarantee a return trip to Rome. This fountain is very huge and a must see, but be careful as it is usually crowded. Beware of pick pocketing! This area is highly populated with tourists and you could be targeted just like I was. If you have a backpack, place it in front of you at all times and if you have a purse, hold on to it close enough that you can see if anyone tries to take anything inside. Usually, it will be mostly kids, but be very cautious of your surroundings.

4.) Go see the Pantheon!

The pantheon was first built as a temple to the gods. Their are some mysteries circulating as to how this temple survived from destruction by barbaric raids and the exact age of the Pantheon is unknown. Definitely the most fascinating part of the Pantheon is the dome as it remains the largest unsupported dome in the world.

5.) Piazza Navona to have a leisurely walk.

Piazza Navona is one of Rome’s most beautiful and treasured piazzas. A lot of times, you will see jugglers and acrobats perform at this piazza. This piazza is great for leisure walking and to see some entertainment with painters and street performers that put on shows for tourists like ourselves.
