As of today, I have been back in the United States for three weeks. Since then, I have only missed France everyday. I started learning French freshmen year of high school and immediately fell in love with the language, especially the accent! Since then, I have been studying French in school and practicing with every chance I get! It was sophomore year of college when I decided that I wanted to study abroad in France to better my pronunciation and my knowledge of colloquial terms. It never sunk in that I was in France until the day before I to returned to the States! Being in France was honestly a dream come true, and it still is one of the happiest moments of my life!
While studying abroad, we visited so many places! Monaco, Eze, Antibes, Saint Paul-de-Vence, and Villefranche to say the very least! One of my favorite places was Monaco. In Monaco, we walked to Monte Carlo, where we passed rows and rows of designer stores. There was Chanel, Hermes, Prada, Celine, Yves Sanit-Lauren, and even Louis Vuitton — all stores I have never seen in person. We even walked up to the Prince’s palace, and the view on the way up was AMAZING.
But my absolute favorite attraction in Monte Carlo was the Oceanographic museum. It was beautiful. The aquarium had exotic animals such as a Guitar fish, a brittle star, octopuses, and shark eggs. There were even three tanks, each housing different species of jellyfish. There were big jellyfish, small jellyfish, jellyfish with big tentacles, jellyfish with pretty colors. The museum part was just as exciting as the aquarium though! I saw skeletons of all types of marine animals: swordfish, manatee, shark, dolphin, and even a beluga whale.
Visiting all the different cities was great, but Nice will always have a special place in my heart. It was the little city that had everything you can ask for: pristine blue beaches along side a breathtaking view of the city on the mountains. There’s a waterfall on the top of the mountains with the best view of all of Nice! Definitely, a must do if you are in town!
