Adios, Panama

As I sit in the airport waiting for my flight to board. I can’t stop thinking about how amazing this experience was and all I’ve learned. Coming to Panama, I was excited to bring my skills and give my all to Panamanians. What I didn’t know is that I would get something much greater from them. I have been immersed¬† into their culture and made many new relationships with both University of Panama nursing students as well as with my faculty allowing me to grow personally and professionally. A couple of days ago, I had the opportunity to go to visit a school in Chepo where we vaccinated students with influenza and educated them on Zika virus, sexually transmitted diseases and gastroenteritis. Overall, this has been a very rewarding experience, and I am looking forward to coming back.

See you later, Panama!
