My favorite experience so far in the one week I’ve been in Florence would have to be a day trip to Cinque Terre I took with Bus2Alps.
Cinque Terre, meaning five towns, is on the coastline of the Italian Riviera. The picture above features the first town we encountered on our hike, Manarola. It was the most beautiful of the five towns in my opinion due to its variety of bright color and overall aesthetic appeal. Near the bottom were rocks people were jumping off of.
The second town, in Monterosso al Mare, there was a pizza place called Focacceria. Pesto was invented in Cinque Terre and it definitely proved to be true! All the ingredients on this pizza were so fresh-the fluffy yet crispy focaccia bread, flavorful tomato sauce, gooey mozzarella cheese, and of course, the vibrantly green pesto!
At the end of our hike, we relaxed for a few hours on the beach with mountainous views. It was a beautiful, sunny, and adventurous day I (especially my legs) will remember!
