‘Puppy Sickness’

While Peru has a number of wonderful things to enjoy each and every day, I sure am ‘puppy sick’ for my little Dino!  It’s not something people talk about much in preparing to go abroad, though of course I’m sure all pet owners think about it.  I know I gave Dino a million extra hugs, kisses, and cuddles in the months and weeks leading up to my departure.  But I also knew he had no idea what was happening.  And when I dropped him off at the dog sitters, he was just excited to be around other puppy playmate and didn’t even notice me leave.

While gone, I’ve tried to video chat with him, but he simply does not seem to care about technology, and sadly, he doesn’t appear to recognize my face or voice on the computer 😦  I really can’t wait to get back to him next month, but in the mean time, I’ve been flipping through photos on my phone when I miss him and showing all of my friends here photos of him like a proud mother 🙂

I’ll leave you with a few here…

And if anyone has tips for alleviating ‘puppy sickness’ or tricks to get your puppy to recognize you on g-chat, Skype, FaceTime, etc., please share! 🙂
