Wow, I can’t believe that I have officially been here for three weeks…Im halfway done! Everyone told me that this experience was going to be over before I knew it, but I didn’t truly understand what that meant until now. I never want this summer abroad to end!
Last weekend (the weekend of May 30th) me and some friends made our way to the Almafi coast for the weekend. The Almafi coast was something that you would see painted on a mural. Beautiful bright colored buildings, clear blue water and relaxed people everywhere you went. While on the coast we visited Capri, Positano and the ruins of Pompeii.
My favorite spot out of all of these was Capri. The island of Capri is tiny and we walked across the whole island in one day. But there was something about the island that I can’t stop thinking about. It had a small town charm about it and a slow paced way of life that I absolutely loved and wished I could have more time enjoying. I will definitely be back to Capri even if its just to have another plate of the seafood pasta I enjoyed while looking out into the gorgeous crystal clear water.
Pompeii was another spot that I was happy to be able to cross off the bucket list. There was so much history and so many stories told on our tour in Pompeii, there was never a dull moment. We also had the chance to hike to the top of Mount Vesuvius (the volcano which erupted and destroyed pompeii. Of course as you can imagine the view from the top of Mount Vesuvius was breathtaking.
Classes are going smoothly and I am finally easily understanding all of my professors Italian accents and even sometimes understanding them when they say certain things in Italian.
Until next time,
Ciao!
