Hi, my name is Indira Ranaweera. I just finished my second year at USF as a Biomedical Science major and Psychology minor in the 7-Year Medical Program. I will be studying abroad in Salamanca, Spain this summer through the University of Connecticut’s Neuroscience program. In Salamanca, I will be taking a Spanish course (we will be tested upon arrival) and a Psychology course (Learning and Memory). I fell in love with this program because my goal is to gain Spanish fluency and broaden my cultural understanding (while simultaneously not falling behind in my accelerated program), and I could not imagine a better place to do so than Spain!
Anyways, there are only a few days left until I leave, and I am getting very excited/nervous/antsy waiting for May 12th to come. Right now, the biggest stress has been packing because I have way too many clothes I want to bring. I can (only) bring a 50-lb checked bag, a carry on, and a personal item. I have been reading travel blogs to make sure I pack everything I need. I think once the trip is over I will compile a list of the top 10 things you need to bring for a summer study abroad program.
I will post a picture of my luggage once I am all packed! Only 8 days and 13 hours until I leave!! 🙂
